The Old Lodge photographed in 1892 showing the original bungalow before its extension in 1906. This image was taken from across Common Road from a lane called The Drive and was included in Charlotte Paton's book 'The King of the Norfolk Poachers: His Life and Times' which Charlotte researched and authored whilst living at The Old Lodge. The Patons owned the property from 1973 to 2018 and extended the original building with a modern annex in the 1970s.

The Old Lodge photographed in May 2022 showing the flowering mature wisteria leading up to the original entrance. A modern gate and fence were installed in December 2021 from the track all the way to the meadow, some 215 metres. A blue plaque to the left of the front door highlights that Frederick Rolf lived here in the 1890s, when he was game keeper to West Bilney Estate.
